Evolution, freedom, the now. I AM the blueprint.
I used Metamucil, water, and Cabothane to produce this temporary work. Soft and wet to feel without permanent form, giving the viewer unlimited freedom to interpret. It was interesting to observe this piece evolve, or rather, mature, and grow grey mould over time, creating new life.

Printed onto transparent film, this is a 3D version of the Journey painting I did earlier in the year. I wanted to explore the dimensions created on the painting itself, feeling a strong sense of depth into what was once flat. I translated these dynamics into three new, independent layers, experimenting to see how that would affect the impression of the original 2D painting and how this could exist on its own.

This work is one of my interpretations of the light box concept and came into being from a feeling of desperation, “hitting the wall”, unable to see a solution. I combined antique and more modern ceiling lights of unusual and more common shapes and mounted them onto an old wooden tea trolley, wiring them up electrically into one light station. The trolley and wiring spray painted seemingly random with gold, and a selection of different light bulbs of various wattage, creating a modern and sophisticated piece of art.
